How to Mix RAPTOR 2K in a Bottle
RAPTOR Bottle Kits are designed to make mixing and applying RAPTOR 2K as easy as possible. Being a 2-component (2K) product, RAPTOR will need to be mixed with it’s hardener to allow the coating to activate and cure through. RAPTOR 2K Black and White bottles come with the colour pre-mixed, it’s as easy as adding the hardener, mixing, and applying.
- Shake your RAPTOR Bottle thoroughly before opening it or adding hardener
- For a 1 Bottle Kit, add the entire hardener provided to the RAPTOR bottle
- For a 4 Bottle Kit, measure your hardener in the measuring cup to the fill line (240ml) and pour into a RAPTOR bottle
- Close the lid and shake the bottle thoroughly for 2 minutes
- Now get ready to apply your RAPTOR 2K
How To Mix a RAPTOR 2K 5L Tin
RAPTOR 2k 5L Tins are perfect for large scale projects and commercial applications. RAPTOR 2K is mixed at a ratio of 3:1 and will require the corresponding RAPTOR Hardener to mix and activate.
- Pour your desired amount of RAPTOR 2K into a mixing vessel and stir thoroughly
- If tinting, add a minimum of 5% and a maximum of 10% tint by volume. Ensure your tint has been activated prior to adding (See How-To Tint RAPTOR 2K)
- At a ratio of 3:1, measure and add your RAPTOR Hardener into the mixing vessel and stir thoroughly.
- Once completely mixed, use your desired method to apply the RAPTOR 2K.
How Long Will RAPTOR 2K Last After Mixing?
After your RAPTOR 2K has been mixed with RAPTOR hardener, it will begin the curing process. At 20°C, you will have approximately 1 hour to apply your RAPTOR before it starts to flash off and become too difficult to apply (flash off time will vary based on ambient temperature).
What Hardener Do You Need for RAPTOR 2K
Due to varying conditions, application methods and storage, you may find yourself in need of additional hardener to finish your project
- Always ensure you have enough RAPTOR Hardener and RAPTOR 2K to finish your project, the last thing you want is to find yourself short halfway through your job.
- Additional RAPTOR Hardener can be purchased through major retailers such as Repco, or through your local RAPTOR Distributor – find yours here
- U-POL S2032 Standard Hardener may also be sourced from your local distributor as an alternative to RAPTOR Hardener. We do not recommend using any hardeners not mentioned here.
