80 Series Landcruiser
Meet Lucas from @4x4flexaus and his self-built 80 Series Land Cruiser. Starting stock, this 80 Series has evolved into a tough, fully kitted-out off road rig powered by passion, built in the shed, and finished with RAPTOR 2K Protective Coating.
Under the bonnet is a 1HD-FT diesel engine from a 100 Series, paired with a billet flywheel, heavy-duty clutch, custom wiring loom, and a performance tune with UniChip and map selector. The setup includes a PDI front mount intercooler, AG turbo, Axis airbox, and snorkel, delivering both power and reliability.
The suspension features a full Dobinson’s and Superior Engineering setup, with a 4” lift, remote reservoir shocks, hyperflex arms, and a Marks 4WD part time kit. With 35” inch tyres sitting on Fuel Blitz rims, this rig is more than capable of taking on any track.
Lucas custom-built his 12-volt setup including a steel switch panel, Redarc BCDC charger, solar, and a fridge slide running a 50L Waeco, powered by a 100Ah lithium battery. The Rock Armour rear bar, Rhino roof rack, solar panel, Maxtrax, and Darche 270 awning round out this tour-ready rig.
The entire body was sprayed by Lucas using RAPTOR. “It’s been on for five years—no fading, no scratches, just durable finish. A DIY respray that saved thousands,” he says.
